Meet Brog, the first frog created by Matt Furie.
In the early days of the internet, before memes ruled the digital landscape, a talented artist named Matt Furie began his online journey. On March 10th, 2004, he registered his domain, mattfurie.com, planting the first flag in what would become a rich world of quirky and iconic characters.
Just over a month later, on April 16th, 2004, a pivotal piece of internet history appeared on his site: the BEER FROG. This laid-back frog, chilling against a tree with a beer in hand, captured a certain carefree spirit. The image, subtle and humorous, would quietly become a precursor to one of the internet’s most enduring memes – Pepe the Frog.
